Asthma is a lung disease (also known as bronchial asthma)
In this disease your breathing passage or airways starts swelling and produces extra mucus. This can make your breathing difficult and you start coughing, wheezing and your chest tightens. This is caused by long term inflammation of airways (passages).
Those people who has asthma can live his life and can enjoy only if the new treatment of asthma is followed profoundly. Survey show that it allowed several people to decrease the number of attacks by a larger amount.
TRUTH BEHIND ASTHMA:
When inflammation of passage starts (it can be triggered by any factor) The passage walls swell and mucus is filled at the openings.
There is narrowing of airways cause difficulties in exhaling (breathing out) air from lungs. The problem of breathing out in some situation causes serious asthma attack.
Asthma is also called Obstructive lung disease. As it is a chronic disease people suffer it everyday. Depending upon different types of peoples its symptom may occur few times a day or in a week.
As researcher’s think that Asthma is caused by genetic (transfer from parent) or environmental factors (air pollution or allergies). Asthma has no cure till date but it is observed that it can be controlled. Early diagnosis & right time treatment provides a better chance of controlling asthma.
When the patient with asthma takes proper treatment they have fewer and less severe attacks. When patient with asthma doesn’t take proper treatment they can have more severe asthma attack which will be more frequent. They can even die in this case.
TYPES OF ASTHMA:
Allergic Asthma: Allergic rhinitis can be caused by allergens in environment. When it leads to asthma called allergic asthma.
Exercise Induced Asthma: When physical exertion leads to asthma said to be exercise induced asthma. The airways begin to contract usually between 5-20 minutes of starting the exercise.
Cough Variant Asthma: Coughing is the main symptom. This type of asthma is generally triggered by respiratory infections and exercise.
Occupational Asthma: When work surrounding triggers your asthma, it is called occupational asthma. Farmers, Barbers etc. are some of the common professionals who develop this type of asthma.
Nocturnal Asthma: In this type of asthma, symptoms are seen during night and can be very dangerous.
FACTORS CONTRIBUTING ASTHMA:
From genetic point of view we see that our parents or grand-parents were in more exposure to infection and we are in less. This made our immune system more sensitive.
When we compare quality of air which our parents or grand-parents breathe and what we breathe its clear that our’s more polluted.
Nowadays, our new generation children spend more time inside the room (i.e. indoor activities) that cause many types of allergies. Our physical exercise decreases in day-to-day activities and we see that obesity is increasing rapidly in people.
In United States of America It has become a very common disease where more than 175 lacs of people are affected.
Asthma is not a disease in which affects the people of certain age only. It affects people of all ages. But survey shows that it is more common in younger people. As the age of patient increases the frequency of asthma attacks start decreasing. The only chronic disease in children is asthma.
CAUSES OF ASTHMA:
Till date the exact cause of asthma is not known.
- Excessive sensitivity of airway to various trigger and chronic airway inflammation.
- By born tendency of having asthma in child.
- Environmental condition.
- There is a series of reaction causing airways inflammation which result in modification of cells. When glandular type cell develop more it causes more production of mucus.
